The festival made a splash with its impressive first year, drawing increasing numbers of attendees each subsequent time it was held.

In 2016, the festival expanded both in size and artistic offerings, featuring a diverse range of genres from electronic to rock. Captivating stages, stunning visuals, and interactive experiences were spectacular.

As Untold Festival’s popularity grew worldwide, it became known as one of the top music events in Europe.

The third edition, held in 2017, proved to be a pivotal moment with larger stages and innovative production designs.

The evolution continues

2018 and 2019 were some key moments in the festivals development

The festival was clearly becoming a reference point in this part of Europe but also worldwide.

The commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness also grew, implementing initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and promote eco-friendly practices. Not to mention the most beloved campaign Blood Network.

Blood Network has become the most important blood donation campaign.

 

First festival held during a pandemic

As 2020 was practically the beginning of the pandemic the festival did not take place. In the following year, 2021, the festival came back, being the first festival held during a pandemic.

It was indeed a extraordinary movement making the festival the safest place for attendants. The safety measures as well as the flawless planning revealed once again a dedicated team.

The cultural impact

As Untold Festival continued to evolve and grow to an outstanding event, the yearly number of attendents has also known a significant rise as people are considering the festival a summer highlight.

There has been a significant impact of Untold Festival on Cluj-Napoca’s community and cultural landscape in addition to the music.

Tourism in the region has increased as a result of influxes of tourists from all corners of the globe, fostering a vibrant atmosphere and promoting Romanian talent. Additionally, the festival has been a catalyst for promoting Romanian talent, providing an opportunity for local artists to showcase their skills alongside international stars.
