How to Use Scented Candles in Your Daily Life
There’s something undeniably magical about lighting a candle. The soft flicker, the calming scent, the way it instantly changes the energy of a room — it’s one of those little luxuries that turn everyday moments into something special. We discovered bloomstudio while doing a research for an April post. And we were delighted to find not only an instagram account, but a small business worth telling about.
From a wedding idea into a candle-making passion
This post shares a story about passion and most importantly how you can integrate scended candles in your life.
It all started with a spontaneous idea — the kind that shows up when you’re drinking coffee with your best friend, chatting about wedding plans and home décor. Andreea`s best friend is getting married in 2026, and while she was searching for personalized wedding favors, they had a lightbulb moment: What if we made our own candles?
Both of them are obsessed with scented candles. Their homes always smell like a warm hug — vanilla, cinnamon, fresh linen, or lavender, depending on the mood of the day. So, the idea of making their own, natural soy candles felt like a perfect mix of creativity and intention. That’s how @bloomstudio was born — a cozy little passion project turned to a small but future brand.
Why Soy Wax and Not the Regular Stuff?
Most candles you’ll find in stores are made from paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum. It’s cheaper, yes, but it also releases toxins when burned. They chose natural soy wax instead — it’s eco-friendly, burns longer, and is much safer to breathe in.
But let’s get real: making beautiful, clean-burning candles is not just about melting wax and pouring it into a mold. There’s a whole science (and a bit of magic) behind it.
They melt the soy wax to around 70°C, add the colorant at the same temperature, and only introduce the fragrance once it cools to about 60°C — to preserve the aroma. Pouring into the mold or container? That happens around 55°C, depending on the type of wax they use. After that, patience kicks in — let them cure for at least 5 to 24 hours to set properly.
Each detail matters. The room temperature, the container or mold, the fragrance oil concentration — it all influences how your candle will look, smell, and burn. But it’s worth every minute of the process.
How to Use Scented Candles in Your Daily Life
Now that we’ve poured our love into creating these candles, here’s how you can bring their magic into your everyday routine:
- Morning Mood Boost
Light a citrus- or peppermint-scented candle during your morning routine to energize your senses. Whether you’re doing yoga, journaling, or just sipping coffee, the aroma sets a positive tone for the day.
- Work-from-Home Vibes
Set the scene for focus and productivity with calming fragrances like eucalyptus, sandalwood, or rosemary. Bonus: it makes your workspace feel a lot more luxe.
- Spa Evenings at Home
Create a self-care ritual by lighting a lavender or vanilla candle during your bath or skincare routine. Pair it with soft music and you’ve got your own spa sanctuary.
- Dinner Ambience
Candles are the easiest way to elevate a simple dinner into a cozy, romantic moment — even if it’s just takeout. Try subtle florals or woody notes to complement your meal.
- Wind Down Before Bed
Scents like chamomile, jasmine, or cedarwood help calm the nervous system. Light one an hour before bed while reading or stretching — it’ll help signal your brain that it’s time to rest.
What’s Next for @bloomstudio?
Right now, they are focusing on creating elegant event favors — especially wedding and baby shower candles — but soon, they’ll expand their collection to include more container candles that fit seamlessly into your home décor. Think minimalist glass jars, vintage-inspired tins, and seasonal collections.
Every candle they make is hand-poured with care, patience, and a little sprinkle of love. Whether you’re gifting them to someone special or treating yourself, they want their candles to feel like little everyday luxuries.
