Being a A Real Life Super Hero
A motivational story about positive energy
When I started to follow Andra Deac on Instagram I was instantly amazed by her unique way of telling her story. She is not only a beautiful person, but an example. Her power to expose herself and her complete cancer journey towards healing has left a positive and unique feeling in my heart.
I wanted to bring up this topic to raise an alarm. At the same time, I wanted to find out the point of view from the perspective of a patient, a mother, a human being.
Writing these lines made me quite emotional. But taking the proper steps to be aware, prevent and act is an aspect that women should not neglect.
Journey towards healing
Andra was diagnosed in 2023 with breast cancer and has decided to tell her followers her story, that includes the treatment and every moment of her life fighting her way through, with an amazing positivity.
A few months ago I have also published a post about the importance of breast cancer prevention and how seriously every woman should treat this topic. You can check out the article here: Importance of Regular Breast Checks for Prevention
Women can empower themselves to recognize potential warning signals, such as lumps, thickness, or changes in breast size or shape, by undertaking self-examinations and scheduling routine mammograms. Early detection offers a potentially life-saving advantage since it enables prompt medical intervention and more potent treatment methods.
Motivation and Awareness
„It was fear in first place. I didn’t have any other feelings, I wasn’t angry, I just felt fear. I knew this couldn’t be all. This cannot be it!”
Regular breast control encourages awareness of and knowledge about breast health, which empowers women. Women who are familiar with the structure of their breasts can distinguish between typical changes and potentially alarming signs.
Self motivation is very important and it will boost the mindset of a person that needs to undergo this treatment. You need to motivate yourself to be strong, not only for yourself but also for the people around you. Andra has two beautiful children and seeing her stories is amazing.
She is able to motivate you to become stronger.
This is not an easy treatment. You might have good as well as bad days, the immunity system finds itself in a constant fight. The recovery is an ongoing process that can influence the mood and every aspect of your daily life.
Mindset and counseling
Accepting the disease and the upcoming treatment is one of the first steps. Andra has a mindset as I have never seen, it makes one strong and motivated. Finding a proper counseling is also important. Through counseling the situation can be accepted and handled accordingly.
„I didn’t think I would get to talk about this. My name is Andra Deac, I’m 35 years old and I’m from Cluj-Napoca. I attended the courses of the Faculty of European Studies in Cluj, I wanted to become a politician. I realized that it was not for me at all and I ended up working in a corporation where I have been a manager for several years. I am a mother of two wonderful children, Zoe is five and a half years old and Oliver is turning two. I have a wonderful husband named Andrei.
And last year I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.
How was it for me to find out?
First of all it was a shock. In the first few weeks I would wake up in the morning and I couldn’t believe that I, a mother of two, have cancer and I that I need to do everything possible to heal.”
Being strong
Accepting the diagnosis is not easy. The support of the people close is extremely important because every positive aspect of your life will echo in fighting the diagnose.
Being responsible means self education. When my mother was diagnosed with this disease I had no idea about the impact that it can have on a human being.
Andra is a true example of a woman that is fighting to survive. She has a purpose. Believing in yourself makes you stronger and the support that you can get is extremely important. She reminds me everyday that giving up is not an option and that everything can turn out as it should. Her courage to expose her story makes her a real life super hero.
