10 hits from artists who made Untold unforgettable
Streaming services have essentially surpassed album sales and platinum awards as the music industry has progressed. Fans have continued to listen to and acquire music, and in the last few years, electronic music pieces have enjoyed a record-breaking amounts of plays on the most widely used streaming platforms. The next songs have had over one billion Spotify plays. And we had the chance to enjoy them together on the main stage of UNTOLD Festival in Romania.
Swedish House Mafia were headliners at the 9-th edition of the festival in 2024. They included their famous hit “Moth To A Flame” in their live set which surpassed one billion streams in 2024.
David Guetta
David Guetta has always been a top favorite artist at Untold. He made a spectacular come back of the well known “Blue (Da Ba Dee),” in collaboration with Bebe Rexha. Nobody could have predicted the great success of their collaboration. The song received nominations for the Brit Awards, QMusic Awards, iHeart Radio Music Awards, and even the Grammy.
Alan Walker
Alan Walker stands among the most-followed artists worldwide. His debut single, “Faded,” has garnered over 3.73 billion views on YouTube, achieved Platinum certification in 14 countries, and exceeded two billion streams on Spotify. In 2017, the Norwegian sensation captivated fans with an unforgettable live performance at the third edition of the UNTOLD festival.
Sam Smith
Scotland and Britain make a harmonious pairing, and producer Calvin Harris showcased this perfectly by selecting British artist Sam Smith for the vocals on his hit single “Promises.” The track found its place on Sam Smith’s 2020 album, Love Goes. The artist graced Romania for the first time in 2024, delivering a heartfelt performance at the 9th edition of the UNTOLD festival. The live show included the emotional single “Promises,” which has now surpassed one billion streams.
The Chainsmokers
Few names in the EDM industry have achieved the level of success that The Chainsmokers enjoy. Their productions and electrifying live performances resonate with audiences of all ages, from teenagers to adults.
In 2017, the duo released their debut album, Memories: Do Not Open, which quickly became a record-breaking hit. Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall embarked on a global tour, culminating in a standout performance at the 4th edition of the UNTOLD in 2018.
Lost Frequencies
Belgian artist Lost Frequencies delivered the ultimate anthem for UNTOLD’s Mainstage in 2021: “Where Are You Now.”
For this track, Lost Frequencies made a brilliant choice by collaborating with British artist Calum Scott, who gained widespread recognition after his memorable appearance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Kygo
Kygo made his debut performance in Romania at the UNTOLD festival in 2018, delivering a flawless show from beginning to end. His 2015 single, “Stole the Show,” has since earned a place among the elite tracks surpassing one billion streams.
Avicii
Avicii’s live performance at the inaugural edition of UNTOLD in 2015 was a moment like no other in Romania. More than 70,000 fans came together to experience the magic he created on the main stage, making it a truly legendary event.
The Chainsmokers
The Chainsmokers cemented their place as one of the biggest names in electronic music. In 2018, Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall thrilled UNTOLD fans with an electrifying live set, showcasing tracks from their debut album Memories: Do Not Open and the global sensation “Something Just Like This,” their iconic collaboration with Coldplay.
Untold 2025 will be held in August 7-10 in Clun-Napoca, Romania.
