Top 8 Horror Movies to Watch on Halloween Night

Halloween night calls for popcorn, blankets, and movies that will make you doubt every noise in your house. Forget the rom-coms; this is the night for adrenaline-pumping, scream-inducing, “did you hear that?!” entertainment. Here are my top eight horror films. Wether you are spending Halloween as a couple, or having friends over for a movie night, these movies are top!

Disclaimer: We watched all these movies and would watch them again anytime! Don`t forget, these are just movies 🙂

The new era of Halloween movies

This means that some of the movies were premiered after 2000 but are included among the best horror movies.

Annabelle (2014)

Annabelle is the reason your porcelain dolls end up in storage (or garbage). If you poses such dolls, lock them up somewhere. This devilish toy demonstrates how “playtime” can be a fatal concept. Yet, it is one of the best horror movies so far. Btw, did you know that the Anabelle doll actually exists?

The Conjuring (2013)

This movie is actually connected to Annabelle. The Warrens are back at it again with another haunted house story that’s “based on true events”. Leave the lights on if it get`s to scary. This is an iconic horror movie and it should be deffinitely on your list.

The Pope’s Exorcist (2023)

This movie is simply OMG. Russell Crowe as a moped-riding exorcist? Yes, please. This movie is terrifying, but the fact that Crowe delivers Latin chants while riding a Vespa kind of makes it amazing and sort of funny. Why watch? Possessions, dark secrets, and Russell Crowe saving the Vatican. Beside that, the person actually existed in real life and is recognized as an official exorcist by the Vatican.

The Nun (2018)

If you grew up fearing strict nuns in school, imagine them with demonic eyes and a voice straight out of the underworld. That’s The Nun. Worth watching as it it’s a spin-off of The Conjuring universe and possibly the best excuse to never enter a convent.

Hereditary (2018)

This is the movie that made people whisper “what the hell did I just watch?” for weeks. Disturbing family drama meets supernatural chaos. Is it worth watching? Deffinitely. It is an unsettling genius. Plus, you’ll never look at miniature dollhouses the same way again.

The Witch (2015)

Creepy goats and forests. Creepy old English dialogue. This slow-burn masterpiece will crawl under your skin before you even realize it. Watch the trailer, or not!

Some Classics

Halloween (1978)

Michael Myers: the man, the myth, the legend. This slasher classic basically invented “Don’t go into the dark basement” horror logic. Why watch? It’s tradition. No Halloween movie marathon is complete without Halloween.

Scream (1996)

Ghostface isn’t just a masked killer—he’s also a movie quiz master. If you don’t know your horror trivia, you’re probably done for. It’s scary but also funny. Perfect for when you want to scream and laugh at the same time.

Don`t forget the popcorn and nachos!
