RoWine Festival Returns to Cluj-Napoca on March 21–22

Cluj-Napoca is preparing to reclaim its title as the capital of enogastronomic refinement. On March 21 and 22, wine connoisseurs, HoReCa professionals, and flavor explorers are invited to a new edition of RoWine – The International Wine Festival of Romania. Hosted within the historic and stylish walls of Chios Social Lounge in Central Park, the event will showcase a rigorous selection of top-tier wineries, celebrating excellence in every glass.

A vision to celebrate wines

As previously highlighted in our IB Magazine features, RoWine is far more than a standard trade fair; it is a curated concept born from the synergy of three prominent figures: Marinela Ardelean, international wine expert and author of “The Wine Book of Romania,” and brothers Liviu and Mihai Popescu, co-founders of the Fratelli Group.

Their combined vision has transformed this festival into Romania’s premier event dedicated exclusively to the premium and luxury segments. Here, the focus shifts away from mass production toward the story behind the label, the unique terroir, and the craftsmanship of winemakers who are successfully putting Romania on the global map of elite viticulture.

What to Expect at the Cluj Spring Edition

This year, RoWine promises to turn the third weekend of March into a complete sensory journey. Visitors will have the opportunity to:

• Taste Rare Vintages: Explore over 300 premium and super-premium wines from Romania, the Republic of Moldova, and renowned international regions like Italy, France, and Spain.

• Meet the Makers: The festival facilitates direct dialogue between those who create the wine and those who savor it, offering a unique “behind-the-scenes” look at the production process.

• Discover the Gourmet Zone: Fine wine demands an equal partner. The gourmet selection will feature artisanal cheeses, specialty meats, and delicacies designed to complement the aromatic notes of the wines.

• Attend Expert Masterclasses: Sessions led by world-class sommeliers and experts for those looking to deepen their technical knowledge.
